Recently I received notice that scammers or con artist are using the Allstate brand to try and rip off innocent unsuspecting people in different parts of the country. Below is a statement from Allstate I wanted to share with you about this activity.
Allstate is aware of a few new check scams that tell consumers they've won a large cash prize in contest, and (in most cases) they have been asked to deposit an enclosed check for a smaller amount in order to cover taxes or insurance, etc.
Allstate has one of the most recognized and trusted brands in the United States. Unfortunately, criminals will occasionally try to exploit our brand by fraudulently using Allstate's name and/or logo to take advantage of consumers. These scams and hoaxes may involve a phone call from someone posing as a representative of Allstate or the fraudulent use of Allstate's name, brand, or logo in a letter, check or e-mail sent to consumers.
As a reminder, if you become aware of a suspicious communication that uses the Allstate brand, please contact Allstate at ScamsHoaxes@Allstate.com. Please provide a brief description of the communication in your email and attach any available copies of the communication in question. This will help Allstate monitor frequency and scope.
