I feel it is part of my job to keep you and your family safe.
This month I want to talk to you about the dangers of texting and driving. Recently, I went to Allstate's website and gathered some valuable information about how dangerous it can be. Please see below and feel free to pass along to your friends.
Texting is a dangerous distraction on America's roadways - particularly for teens. In fact, texting while driving can increase your risk of crashing by 23 times.* That's why our agency is joining thousands of Allstate agencies across the country in supporting Allstate's national X the TXTSM movement, launched in 2009, to curb texting while driving.
At X the TXTSM pledge events throughout the country, people have taken the pledge not to text and drive and received X the TXTSM thumb bands with a 'TXTNG KLLS' message - a reminder not to text behind the wheel. Since then, tweens, teens and families have filled up Allstate's inbox, voicemail and Facebook page with requests for these exclusive X the TXTSM thumb bands.
Now is your chance to join us in keeping our community safe by pledging not to text and drive. By "liking" the X the TXTSM Facebook page (www.facebook.com/XtheTXT), you're pledging to keep your thumbs on the wheel and off of your phone. And while you're there, check out the 'Thumb Band' tab to order up to five free X the TXTSM thumb bands to share with friends, and remind you of your commitment.
This is just one of the ways our agency continues to support customers and make our community safer. I hope you and your family join us in the movement to save lives by pledging and ordering your thumb bands. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the agency at 908-301-0711.
